In Kenya, not everyone can afford a proper education for their children because of the high poverty rate - 52% of the total population lives in poverty and 67% of the disabled population lives in poverty. Because of this many children have not had the chance to go to school.
Representatives from the CURE Children's Hospital of Kenya visited schools in the country to teach them about disabilities, dispel myths, and inform them about where they can get help.
Jecinta came to CURE Kenya suffering from clubfoot. She received corrective surgery and is now able to attend school.
John suffered from burn contractures on his foot that hindered his ability to walk and play. He received corrective surgery at CURE Kenya and is now thriving at school!
Children are the future! By teaching them the truth about disabilities and how they can get help, we are building a brighter future for everyone.
