CURE Philippines, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, hosts a prom event in Davao City, Philippines, each year called Night to Shine. It is a gathering of 500 local church partners, volunteers, and honored guests who filled the Davao Convention Center Ballroom as a celebration of God's love for people with special needs.
In partnership with the Seeds of Dignity, Tebow CURE Hospital reached out to a total of 100 guests from several organizations including: Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines, Davao School for the Blind, Deaf Ministries International, Resources of the Blind Institute, Our Lady of Victory, and several CUREkids who had surgeries at the Tebow CURE Hospital.
Thanks to dress donations from friends and church partners in the United States, our honored guests walk on the red carpet with the dress of their choice or a traditional barong for men. They are all dolled up with makeup and hairstyles done by local artists.
To give our guests the royal treatment, entertainment with games, a photo booth, and dancing were all available! Guests even had their own buddy to keep them company during the party!
Tebow CURE’s Spiritual Director, Wenzyl Dejolde, opened the event with prayer, and the guests were encouraged and reminded about their identity in Christ by our guest speaker, Dulce Martinez.
It was truly a Night to Shine when we crowned our guests as kings and queens! We couldn’t have done it without our amazing volunteers and the Tebow CURE staff, who were reunited with some CUREkids as well.
“When I get healed, I want to be able to dance!” Harry told us when we met him at Tebow CURE Hospital prior to having surgery. To be able to see these words come true for so many at an event like this—it’s incredible!
